HORROR VACUI with a new collection, photographed by Dirk BADER c/o AVENGER
HORROR VACUI, which means ‘fear of the void’ in Latin, is the term used in art to describe the desire to fill all empty surfaces with depictions or ornaments, particularly in painting and relief. The name was chosen by designer Anna Heinrichs for her fashion label founded in 2014 in Munich. She creates garments inspired by nightgowns from the 15th and 16th century with elements of traditional Bavarian costumes. To this end, she focuses on feminine silhouettes and Liberty prints in her designs.
